The Fury, coached by Central High varsity softball coach Amber McLean, claimed their spot in the national field by snagging a top-four finish at a national qualifying tournament in Spokane, Wash., on June 23. The team then captured a runner-up finish in the Oregon ASA 16A State Tournament in Beaverton July 13-15.

Dallas High senior pitcher Julie Postma and Central sophomore utility player Ryanne Huffman are the lone Polk County residents on the squad.
