DALLAS -- Kassidy Totten scored two goals, including one in the first minute of the game, to lead the Dallas girls soccer team to a 5-0 nonleague win over Benson Thursday.

Madeleine Nelson, Brooke Perry and Coby Champ added goals of their own and Mary Kate McGuire, Kiley Yost and Haley Nelson each added assists in the game, which Dallas led at the half, 1-0.

The Dragons (1-0) hosted Century Tuesday after press time and travel to Sprague Thursday for a 7 p.m. matchup.

CENTRAL BOYS BLANK ELMIRA: The Panthers out-shot Elmira 20-2 to dominate play en route to an 8-0 nonleague victory Thursday. Eight different players scored for Central (1-0), including Eddie Carrillo, who notched his first goal as a varsity player. Also scoring for Central was Alejandro Echeverri, Gregorio Herrera, Marcos Puente, Heber De La Torre and Rafael Azua. Herrera, Echeverri, Jesus Vera each added an assist and Puente had three assists. Marcos Garibay recorded his first varsity shutout in the win.

CENTRAL GIRLS HOLD OFF ELMIRA: Four different players scored for the Panthers as they held on for a 4-2 nonleague win Thursday. Grecia Diaz, Alyssa Waterman, Jasmine Orozco and Alexis Orozco all scored for Central, which held a 4-3 lead before Elmira netted its final goal.

Cross-Country

DESMARTEAU TAKES THIRD: Central's Mandi Desmarteau was the top finisher for the Panthers at Thursday's Cascade Invitational, placing third overall for the girls with a time of 21 minutes, 1 second. J.D. Protiva led the boys side with a time of 21:02, good for 44th place.

STUHR LEADS DALLAS AT TRASK: Senior Clay Stuhr earned a place on the podium with his 10th-place finish at Saturday's Trask Mountain Assault in McMinnville. Stuhr finished with a time of 22:14.23.
