POLK COUNTY -- In the traditional spirit of giving during the holiday season, the Polk County Itemizer-Observer is compiling a list of items needed by nonprofit organizations based in Polk County that serve local residents.
It's no secret that many nonprofits have been hit hard by the ongoing tough economic times in our region that have left an ever-increasing number of people in need of their services.
Nonprofits help play an important role in our communities' overall quality of life, and we hope our readers and local businesses will extend a helping hand to these organizations.
The Itemizer-Observer plans to publish on Nov. 28 a holiday wish list for Polk County-based nonprofits. If you are affiliated with a nonprofit in Polk County and would like to have your wish list included, send us the following information:
* Name of your nonprofit organization and what you do.
* Your organization's wish list in 125 words or less (longer requested will be edited). Include requests for specific items or tell readers how your organization will use their donations.
* Contact information, including a name, phone number, email address, physical address of the nonprofit and the organization's website, if applicable.
Deadline for submissions is noon on Wednesday, Nov. 21.
Wish list information may be submitted via email to email@example.com, via fax to 503-623-2395, or dropped off in person at the I-O office, 147 SE Court St., Dallas.
