PREP SOCCER: Perrydale's Sydney Van Steenberge named Player of the Year

PERRYDALE -- Western Mennonite/Perrydale sophomore Sydney Van Steenberge was named the Special District 3 Player of the Year for high school girls soccer for the second straight season.

PERRYDALE -- Western Mennonite/Perrydale sophomore Sydney Van Steenberge was named the Special District 3 Player of the Year for high school girls soccer for the second straight season.

She was one of three Perrydale High students to earn all-league honors.

Joining Van Steenberge on the first team was sophomore Cheyenne Locke, while sophomore Lili Stott was tabbed as an honorable mention.

Santiam Christian's Wendy Miller was named Coach of the Year.
