MONMOUTH -- Jeremy Ainsworth, head athletic trainer for the Corvallis Knights, has been honored as the Knights' Staff Member of the Year for 2012.

MONMOUTH -- Jeremy Ainsworth, head athletic trainer for the Corvallis Knights, has been honored as the Knights' Staff Member of the Year for 2012.

Ainsworth, who also serves as the head trainer for Central High athletics, has been the head trainer for the Corvallis collegiate summer wood-bat squad since the team relocated from Gresham in 2007.

He works all the club's home games and makes a few road trips each season.

Ainsworth, of Monmouth, will return for his seventh season with the Knights this summer, where he's responsible for game training, medical coverage, treatment and coordinating additional care.
