SALEM -The suspect in the murder of a Dallas man is due in Marion County Court this afternoon.
Eric P. Davis, 46, of Dallas was killed early Wednesday morning in an apparent homicide reported at the NORPAC plant in Salem. He was an employee of NORPAC for five years and was a warehouse supervisor at the company's Salem location, 2325 Madrona Ave. SE, said NORPAC spokeswoman Amy Wood.
Farouk A. Eldabba, also known as Alex, 44, of Keizer was taken into custody Wednesday night in connection with the crime. He is scheduled to appear in Marion County Circuit at 3 p.m. He is charged with murder.
Salem Police said Eldabba is the only suspect in the case at this time.
According to police, workers arriving at the NORPAC plant at approximately 5:40 am Wednesday discovered Davis dead in the parking lot.
Salem Police Lt. Dave Okada said Wednesday investigators have not determined the cause death.
"We are not releasing that at this time," he said. "We are still waiting on the results of an autopsy."
Okada said, however, the crime was found to be a homicide early in he investigation.
"Officers arrived and did their initial investigation, and at that point we considered it a homicide investigation," Okada said.
