Tryouts for the girls sixth grade Dallas Future Champs Basketball Inc. will be at 2 p.m. Dec. 2 in the LaCreole Middle School main gymnasium

. Tryouts for the seventh and eighth grade girls will be announced at a later date. The registration fee is $90 per player. There will be three practices per week, and the team will compete in two or three tournaments. Players should come to the tryout dressed to play -- basketball shoes and shorts. The registration deadline for the Panthers Indoor Girls Soccer Team is Dec. 11

. The fee is $50 per player, and there will be a maximum of 10 players per team. The team will play in the Salem United Indoor Soccer League. For more information, call Christine Wade at 503-606-0537.

The Polk County Ski Club is sponsoring trips to Mt. Hood Meadows every other Saturday beginning Dec. 2 (depending on snow conditions)

. The bus will leave the Safeway grocery store parking lot, 138 W. Ellendale, at 6 a.m. and return at approximately 7:30 p.m. Packages are available from $12 (transportation only) to a $30 beginner special. Registration for Central Youth Sports Basketball in grades three-six is every Wednesday from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the CYS office, 169 Broad St., Monmouth

. It's also possible to register on-line at WWW.OPEN.ORG/-CENTRAL. Tryouts will be Dec. 9 at Talmadge Middle School, boys at 8:45 a.m. and girls at 10 a.m. The cost is $25 per player in grades three-four and $30 in grades five-six. Youngsters interested in swimming are invited to join the Dallas Blue Dolphins Swim Team

. The team is scheduled to begin working out at the new Dallas Aquatic Center in January. Experience is preferred, and the position will be open in January. A stipend will be paid depending on experience. Kids, Inc. of Dallas will hold a board meeting at 7 p.m. Dec. 4 at the Kids, Inc. office, 187 SW Court St

. Nominations and elections for board members are on the agenda. There are four one-year terms and six two-year terms open. All interested persons should submit a letter detailing their background and qualifications. Those interested in becoming board members are required to attend this meeting if they have not attended at least one meeting in the past year. A planning meeting for Kids, Inc. baseball will be held at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 5 in room 606 of Dallas High School

Registration is underway for the Dallas Wrestling Fan Club

. For a $10 fee, you will receive a handbook with pictures of the wrestlers from Dallas High School and LaCreole Middle School. Members also will receive schedules with directions to the various meets and a Wrestling Newsletter during the season. Season ticket packages for the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes now are on sale
