Salary approved, screen committee formed in superintendent search

The search to replace retiring Dallas School District Superintendent Dave Voves continues with interviews set up through April and up to May 3.



DALLAS -- The search to replace retiring Dallas School District Superintendent Dave Voves continues with interviews set up through April and up to May 3. The Dallas School Board approved a salary range of $84,000 to $92,000 with full benefits for a new superintendent at its April 9 meeting.

The board chose a screening committee to select the new superintendent at its previous meeting. The committee includes Maggie Mathews, special education director; Dallas High School Vice Principal Scott McLeod; LaCreole Middle School Principal Diane Baumgartner; Whitworth Elementary Principal Lynn Hurt; Rickreall Elementary Secretary and OSEA Union President Gayla Overstreet; Dallas High Morrison Campus Secretary Mary Chance; Dallas High Educational Assistant Earl Fairbanks; Oakdale Elementary School teacher and DEA Union President Casey Wallace; LaCreole art teacher Tom Shaffer, Dallas High Music Director John Skelton; community members Mary Weinbender, Becky Kahl and Paul Mannen; all school board members; and Melody Hillebrand, administrative secretary to the superintendent and secretary to the board.
