POLK COUNTY -- A month-long investigation resulted in the arrest of four Dallas residents on methamphetamine charges Feb. 19.
At 7 a.m., detectives from the Polk Interagency Narcotics Team served a search warrant at 644 S.W. Robb St. in Dallas, the home of Shawn Michael Bays and Kimbali Dawn Bays.
Undercover officers allegedly bought methamphetamines from Shawn Michael Bays at the house.
Shawn Michael Bays, 33, faces charges on possession and distribution of methamphetamines as well an additional charge for frequenting a place where illegal drugs are used.
Kimbali Dawn Bays, 36, faces one count of frequenting a place where illegal drugs are used.
Police seized less than an ounce of methamphetamines. They also seized scales, packaging materials, smoke devices, police scanners, syringes, knives, drug paraphernalia and a sword.
At 8:45 a.m., detectives served search warrant at 237 S.W. Walnut Avenue No. 3, the home of Jimmy Alan Cavan and Jannie Anne Cavan.
Jimmy Alan Cavan, 41, faces charges of possession of methamphetamine as well as an additional charge of delivery methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of Lyle Elementary School. He also faces two counts of child neglect.
Jannie Ann Cavan, 20, also faces charges of possession of methamphetamine and the additional charge of delivery methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of Lyle Elementary School. She also faces two counts of child neglect.
Police seized less than one ounce of methamphetamine as well as scales, packaging materials, drug paraphernalia and syringes.
The Polk Interagency Narcotics Team combines the resources of the Dallas, Monmouth and Independence police departments as well as the Polk County Sheriff's Office.
Polk County officers were assisted by the Valley Interagency Narcotics Team out of Salem.
