Western Oregon's Donovan Martin tossed a no-hitter against Eastern Oregon March 17 and was named the Cascade Conference pitcher of the week

. He walked three and struck out nine.

♦ The Annual Les Schwab/Blazer Alumni Basketball Game is set for April 14 at Western Oregon University. Former Blazers scheduled to attend include Larry Steel, Darnell Valentine and Michael Harper. Burton's Portable Seed Cleaning women's softball team (formerly Valley Community Hospital) is looking for two new players to join the team

Western Oregon's Sarah Everhart recently was named the Pacific West Pitcher of the Week

. She beat Western Washington 6-1 and Central Washington 7-1. Everhart also recorded a save against WWU. For the week, she pitched 15.2 innings, allowing 10 hits, two walks, one run and recorded six strikeouts.

Oregon Amateur Basketball is sponsoring a F.A.S.T. regional qualifier May 4-6 in the Eugene/Springfield area

Central Youth Sports is seeking individuals interested in volunteering their time to help with evening and Saturday baseball games

Central softball coach Larry Buehler is planning hitting clinics that will be held in the school's new batting cages

Registration for Kids, Inc.,/LaCreole Middle School seventh and eighth grade baseball is underway

Brooke Bennett, a two-time gold medalist in the 2000 Summer Olympics, is scheduled to take part in the Western Oregon Youth Swim Camp June 17-21

. The camp is open to ages 9 to 16 and will focus on all four competitive strokes: freestyle, butterfly, breaststroke and backstroke. Campers may stay over night or commute. Bennett will work with the campers June 21 and present them with certificates at the closing ceremony. Also included on the coaching staff are Jeff Welechuk, Suha Tokman, Jennifer Alden and Elke Asleson. The registration deadline is May 17. Space is limited, and a deposit is required. Panthers Kids Wrestling is looking for wrestlers between the ages of 6 and 14

. The team practices two or three days a week at Central High School and participates in tournaments around the state. Wrestlers are required to have a USA membership card.
