Capitol Features Display By Veterans

Salem area veterans will be hosting displays at the State Capitol from May 27 to June 16.

SALEM -- Salem area veterans will be hosting displays at the State Capitol from May 27 to June 16.

More than 50 military uniforms will be displayed on mannequins, representing World War I to the present.

The display will also feature pictures from the Revolutionary War to the Persian Gulf War.

Separate display cases will be set up for World War I, World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Marines, Army (Army Air Corps), Navy, Coast Guard, Merchant Marines and veterans organizations.

Displays will also feature the homefront during World War II.

More than two years has been spent putting the displays together. Three people will be at the exhibit to answer questions.

The display will be in the galleria of the Capitol weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
