Central High School is seeking a girls tennis coach

. The head coach is expected to coordinate and provide leadership to athletes in grades nine-12 and to oversee youth and developmental programs. Qualified applicants must have current Red Cross standard first aid certificate, be American Sport Education Program certified and have coaching experience at the high school or club level. Perrydale's boys basketball season came to an end Feb. 15 with a 44-37 loss to St. Paul in the last round of the Casco league playoffs

. David Stark paced the Pirates with 14 points, and Jacob Eichler added 10. St. Paul outscored Perrydale 14-6 in the final period, erasing a one-point deficit.

There will be a rules and conduct meeting for anyone interested in managing, coaching or umpiring at all levels of Kids, Inc. baseball during the upcoming season starting at 7 p.m. on Feb 25

Monmouth-Independence Tennis, a local nonprofit group, is collecting funds to build four new lighted tennis courts just south of the courts currently at Central High School

. The effort already has been bolstered by a $12,000 pledge from the Panther Club, a land donation by the Central School District and proceeds from the Monmouth 4th of July Tennis Tournament. The new courts would allow for expanded youth programs, community clinics and high school physical education classes and team practices. Bryce Landolt of the Monmouth Wrestling Club claimed first place in the 65-pound bantam class on Feb. 16 at a USA Wrestling Tournament at West Albany

. Landolt pinned all four of his opponents, in order, in 11, 23, nine and 45 seconds. Monmouth's Max Dixon also took fourth place in the 80-pound midget class, splitting his four matches.

Registration for the Kids, Inc. Dallas Blue Dolphins swim team is underway at the Dallas Aquatic Center and the Kids, Inc. office, 187 SW Court, St

. The winter session continues through mid-March. The registration fee for those 11 and older is $80 and $55 for those 10 and younger. Both age groups also must pay a $30 U.S. Swim fee. There will be an additional $10 late registration fee after Jan. 2, 2002. The older group will swim five days per week (Monday-Friday) and the younger group will swim three days a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday). The Polk County Ski Club is hosting bus trips to Mount Hood Meadows every other Saturday

. Buses will depart and return to the Dallas Safeway parking lot, 138 W. Ellendale. For day trips, the bus leaves at 6 a.m. and returns at 7 p.m. For night trips, the bus leaves at noon and returns at 12:30 a.m. Several different packages and options are available. There will be a final organized registration period for Kids, Inc. baseball from 8:30 a.m.-11 a.m. on Feb. 23 at Strader Field
