DALLAS -- The Wells Fargo stage is a-comin' to town.
Once a familiar sight in towns throughout the West, the stage is pretty rare these days.
Wells Fargo has only one official stage left. It makes very limited public appearances. However, it is coming to Dallas for the Summerfest parade Saturday, July 27,
Horses will be hitching up to the stage around 8:45 a.m. at the parking lot at the corner of Miller and Uglow avenues.
Summerfest runs from Friday, July 26, to Sunday, July 28, in Dallas.
Festivities kick off with formal opening ceremonies in front of the Polk County Courthouse at 9 a.m. July 26.
The ceremonies will take place at a new Courthouse Stage.
Officials at the Dallas Area Chamber of Commerce are putting together a covered stage in front of the courthouse. They plan for it to become a regular venue for Summerfest entertainment.
Entertainers this year include jazz, blues and swing artists. The courthouse lawn will also be full of picnic tables and food vendors.
The annual Summerfest parade begins at 11 a.m. Saturday July 27.
Following the parade will be Kid Fest at the Rotary Stage in front of the Academy Building. Kid Fest will include the annual 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament as well as performances by local youth bands.
More information on Summerfest is available by calling the Chamber at 503-623-2564.
