The Queen of Emergency Preparedness...Not!



Pacific Conference Superintendent Victor Slaughter leads the worship service message Sunday, May 16.

The potluck dinner begins at about 11:30 a.m., followed by the local conference meeting with the superintendent.

BIBLE SCHOOL

Plans are being made for Vacation Bible School June 21 to 25 at the Pedee Church.

The theme "Lava Lava Island" includes crafts, songs and stories.

GUESTS

Paul and Betty Ronco's lunch guest April 15 were Jill and Ryan Jones, Judy Jackson and Lourin Lonegan.

RECOVERING

Dave LaVoie had carpal tunnel surgery on his hand Friday.

His wife, Joyce, was in the Salem Hospital April 17 to 19 with a low blood sugar count.

The family planned to help Joyce celebrate her birthday April 17. Her daughter, Kathy Collins, had come from Reimer, Minn., April 12 with her husband, Jack. Joyce's other daughter, Merrilou Gilmore, came from Milton-Freewater.

Larry Burbank is walking with a cane as he recovers from ankle injuries from falling during the snow storm in January.

His brother, Leslie, fell and broke his arm. It was set April 13.

BIRTHDAYS

Aaron and Nonie Burbank hosted birthday celebrations at their home April 18.

They celebrated the April 17 birthday of their daughter-in-law, Pam Burbank, and the April 18 birthday of their son, Larry Burbank.

Guests included Anne, Kevin, Bryan, Bob and Pam Parker; Lonnie, Lew, Sue, Michael, Leslie and Larry Burbank; Gail and Chuck Goetzinger; Aaron and Jason Marquardt; Laura Dyer and Alma Clark.

The Rev. Lonnie Burbank, Aaron Burbank and Stacy Wiedenmann led the 10 a.m. worship service April 18.

WORSHIP

The pastor's message, "Remember the Lord's Death," was based on Corinthians 11:23-26. He mentioned the beauty of spring flowers and the freshness of the Earth. We celebrated the resurrection. Communion was served at the close of the worship service.

Visitors included Laura Dyer of Monmouth and Alma Clark of Vancouver, Wash. They stayed at the beach at Alma's cottage in Rockaway April 14 to 17.

CINCO DE MAYO

The Pedee Womens' Club encourages all to attend the neighborhood luncheon Cinco de Mayo at noon Wednesday, May 5, at the club house.
