Fun and frivolity set in at Pedee Women's Club

Family Night at the women's clubhouse in Pedee is 8 p.m. Friday, Dec 31.

Bring finger foods to share. There will be board games and time for visiting while waiting to welcome in 2005.


Bridgeport students joined guests Dec. 15 at Pedee School where they enjoyed Pedee students' practicing their program "Santa Claus' Workshop." Students formally presented the program that evening.


Pedee Bible Club met at the Pedee Church Dec. 17.

Susan Mulkey led several Christmas games before snack time. Hot pizza, chips and cookies were served with apple juice.

A manger scene served as a centerpiece.

Geraldine McKinney read Luke 2. Misty Thole led the study. "Silent Night" was sung.

Each club member selected a Christmas ornament and gift as they returned to school.

This was the last meeting of 2004.


The Angel candle, fourth in the Advent Wreath, was lit by the Rev. Lonnie Burbank Dec. 19 at the Pedee Church.

Aaron Burbank assisted with the praise service and took some of the praise and prayer requests.

Carla Burbank and daughter, Shelly, attended. Carla thanked the congregation for the cards and other help received since her leg surgery.

Nonie Burbank took other requests and closed with a prayer.

Aaron read Matthew 1:18-25 before the pastor, in costume, gave his message "Joseph -- The Man God Chose to Raise His Son."


Relatives and friends attended the 25th anniversary reception honoring Rick and Michelle Bennett of Monmouth Dec. 19.

The reception, given by his parents, Pete and LaVerne Bennett, was at the Pedee Evangelical Church.

Christmas greens and silver with a bouquet of flowers were placed on each table.

The anniversary cake was made and decorated by Lucy Osgood. A bouquet of pink carnations and white "mums" was on each end of the serving table.

Rick's sister, Lisa Bennett, arranged a display of family and wedding pictures. Rick and Michelle were married Dec. 22, 1979, at the Albany Evangelical Church.

Among those attending were Michelle's sister and brother-in-law, Cindy and Mike Rogers, and children from Vancouver, Wash.

Rick and Michelle opened their gifts. They thanked all for coming and for an afternoon of pleasant memories.


Charles and Leslie Bennett of Seattle came Dec. 18 and spent the night with his brother and sister-in-law, Pete and LaVerne Bennett.

Leslie attended church Sunday morning with Laverne and all attended the reception for Rick and Michelle in the afternoon.
