Rickreall School items sold

Desks, globes and other material from old school to be sold off

RICKREALL -- Old desks and school supplies from Rickreall Elementary School go on sale Saturday, June 26.

Proceeds from the sale benefit the Parent-Teacher Committees at Whitworth, Lyle and Oakdale Heights elementary schools in Dallas.

Colleen Kibbey of the Whitworth PTC said she understands how hard it was for people in Rickreall to lose the school.

"I know it's hard for the people out there but they can take some comfort in that the sale of the items will help schools in Dallas there children now attend."

Officials for the Dallas School District already took items from the school that could be used in other buildings and classrooms.

Kibbey said a number of desks, both for adults and children, remain as well as items such as books and library material. There is even a popcorn machine and piano."

"We're really excited about it because every penny will help schools," Kibbey said.
