The 12th Annual Dallas Quarterback Club Golf Tournament is scheduled for Aug. 20 at Dallas Golf Club

. All proceeds benefit Dallas football, from youth leagues to high school programs. The 18-hole, four-person scramble begins with a 9 a.m. shotgun start, Registration is at 8 a.m. The entry fee is $60 per person and includes green fees, range balls, starter pack and prizes. No handicap is needed. Individual or team entries are welcome. The field is limited to the first 53 paid entrants. In 11 years, the QB Club has donated more than $70,000 to Dallas football. Central Football Camp will be held Aug. 15-18 at the high school

. Grades 9-12 will meet from 9 a.m.-noon. Grades 3-8 will meet from 6:30-8 p.m. The cost is $20 per player. This is a noncontact camp. Registration will be held on-site prior to the first workout. For more information, call head coach Shane Hedrick at 503-838-1099.

An Olympic water polo clinic will be held July 30 at the YMCA pool at 490 I Street in Independence

LaCreole Middle School will field two girls teams and two boys teams in the Mid-Valley Soccer League this fall

. Players will have their skills assessed by a team of coaches and will be assigned to a team based on this assessment. Player assessment will be held Aug. 22-25 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at LaCreole. Players should come dressed to play and bring a soccer ball and drinking water. Games will be played on Saturdays from Sept. 10-Nov. 12. The cost is $90 plus $40 for uniforms. The LaCreole soccer program is raising funds by seling wine barrel planters

. The oak wine barrel halves are $15 each and will be on display at Heaven Sent and Vintage Vine during Summerfest.

The Salem Soccer Referee Association will hold its first meeting for the 2005 fall season on Aug. 3 at the Salem Senior Center, 1055 Erixon Dr. NE

The Dallas Summerfest Fun Run will be held on July 30

. All events start and finish at Dallas City Park. There will be a one-mile run at 8 a.m. and a five-mile run at 8:30 a.m. Registration is $7 before July 15 and $10 after July 15. The Dallas Basketball Association is sponsoring the Dallas Summerfest 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament

. The tourney will be held July 29-31 in the parking lot of the Academy Building, 182 SW Academy St. There is a maximum of four people per team. The entry fee is $80 per team. There are boys and girls divisions for grades 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12 and adults. Registration is from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. July 29. The skills challenge begins at 6 p.m. July 30. Wildcat Hoop Camp will be offered in three sessions this summer

. Girls entering grades 4-8 will meet from 1 p.m.-4:30 p.m. on July 25-28 at Dallas High School. Boys entering grades 4-8 will meet from 1 p.m.-4:30 p.m. on Aug. 1-4 at DHS. Boys and girls entering grades k-3 will meet from 9 a.m.-11 a.m. on Aug. 1-4 at Whitworth Elementary. Fundamentals and sportsmanship will be stressed. The cost of $50 per session includes a camp t-shirt. Registration forms are available at Whitworth, LaCreole and the Dallas Aquatic Center. Dallas, Kids, Inc. needs coordinators for the grade 3-4 and 5-6 soccer leagues in the upcoming fall season

Registration for Dallas Kids, Inc. football is coming to an end

. Kids, Inc. hopes to field four flag football teams in grades 2-4. Tackle football for grades 4-6 is limited to two teams of 25 each. Players in the fourth grade who want to play tackle football must have at least one year of flag football experience. For more information, contact the Kids, Inc. office.

The next Dallas Easy Summer Bike Ride will be to the Buena Vista Ferry and back on Aug. 6.

A Masters swimming team at the Dallas Aquatic Center is accepting new members

. The annual fee is $25 per person or $45 per couple. The team is open to swimmers of all ability levels, 19-and-older. Participants are not required to swim competitively, but that option is available. Practices are set from 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, but team members also can set their own practice times.
