Immunization deadline for children is Feb. 15

Child immunization Deadline is February 15th

POLK COUNTY -- The county Public Health Department is reminding parents/guardians to make sure their children's immunization records are up to date or complete before Feb. 15.

Under Oregon law (ORS Chapter 433), on Feb. 15 children with incomplete records will not be allowed to attend school or day care facilities until they receive the required immunizations.

Immunizations are available from private health care providers or at the Polk County Public Health Department. Appointments are necessary to receive immunizations. If your child needs immunizations, please call the health department or your doctor early to avoid having your child excluded from school.

Parents must accompany children under 15 years of age. It is necessary to bring immunization records so the proper immunizations can be given.

There is a fee for immunizations, but no one will be denied services if they are unable to pay.

To make an appointment with the Public Health Department, or for more information: 503-623-8175.
