Sam and Judy Guida and Arlene Kovash joined Doug and Jan McKerdie of Corvallis this month at their cabin in Camp Sherman.

The women quilted and scrapbooked. Arlene attended a quilt class in Sisters, where she also took in the big Sisters' Quilt Show that Saturday.

On July 6, the friends celebrated Judy's birthday with Mexican food in Sisters, a gift and a plate of cookies.

Alvin and Elsie Jones came from Prineville July 8 to attend the 80th birthday reception honoring Elsie's Aunt Doris at a mobile home fellowship hall in Salem. They are spending a few days with their daughter and family, Kathy and Scott McKindley and Andrea, in Albany. They plan to get fresh fruit and vegetables to take home.

They attended Pedee Evangelical Church on July 9 and were noontime dinner guests of their daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Lonnie Burbank, at the parsonage. Lonnie's father, Aaron Burbank, also joined them.

Pastor Lonnie Burbank was assisted by Aaron Burbank at the July 9 worship service at Pedee Evangelical Church.

Shelby Wiedenmann, whose fifth birthday was July 7, was honored.

The pastor reviewed the activities coming up on July 22 to 26 at a family conference and business session at Jennings Lodge.

Some plan to attend the ladies' garden luncheon from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 22. Cost is $15. Call Pam Burbank for more information.

On Sunday, July 23, a barbecue, music and car rally will precede a 6 p.m. service. Evangelist Rev. Dan Morgan will speak at 7 p.m.

The business sessions for delegates are July 24 to 26.

Dave and Joyce LaVoie learned on July 11 that the exploratory surgery their 10-year-old grandson is to have on his hip and leg at the Shriner's Hospital in Portland, has been postponed.

Pastor's message, "A Heart Like Jesus!" was from I Cor. 3:12-18.

My sister, Nila Shellenbarger of Monmouth, had her granddaughter and family, Julie, Chris, Paige and Emma Austin of Sherwood at her home on July 4 to watch the Western Days parade.

The girls' grandparents, Larry and Mary Shellenbarger of Buena Vista, were riding their horses with the Polk County Saddle Club in the parade.
