Dallas Wiens takes first place at Corvallis

She finishes the cross country race with a 16-second lead on the runnerup.

DALLAS -- Chelsea Wiens of Dallas finished first last week in a cross country meet hosted by Corvallis.

Wiens was clocked in 19:43 and had a comfortable 16-second margin on second-place finisher Malory Peterson of Corvallis.

Dakota Magden was the only other Dallas girl in the varsity race. She finished 15th in 23:41.

Amanda Bruesch took seventh for Dallas in the junior varsity race with a time of 26:33. Kerry Green finished 18th in 29:50 and Angela Green was four seconds behind in 19th.

Joe Crawford paced the Dallas boys, earning fourth with a time of 17:03.

Nate Anderson ran a 17:37 and finished in 10th place. Other finishers for the Dragons were Ty Tietjen (14th, 18:13), Brian Woitte (16th, 18:14), Robert Senter (22nd, 19:05) and Guaje Rush (23rd, 19:11).

Steven Austin finished 12th for Dallas in the JV competition. He was followed by James Holton (19th, 20:41), Ben Hamilton (27th, 21:49), Chris Clathier (35th, 24:17) and Robert Osborn (36th, 24:48).
