Two groups are inviting the public to an event Saturday, Sept. 23, at the Airlie Winery that will help raise money for the Ritner Creek Bridge and celebrate the Luckiamute River watershed.
The 1 to 4 p.m. event will features live music by Joe Shinkle and 99 West, a silent auction and a hot dog sale. The winery will be open for wine tasting and purchases. There is no charge to attend, but donations are welcome.
The Coalition to Restore Ritner Creek Bridge and the Luckiamute Watershed Council joined to sponsor this fund-raising activity. During the band intermission at about 2:30 p.m., the watershed group will present its annual awards to volunteers.
Along with grilled hot dogs for sale, there will be baked items, produce, and other donated goods that visitors can bid on. All proceeds will go to benefit the bridge. Anyone with items to donate for the auction can call Margaret at 503-838-4225.
To get to Airlie Winery from Highway 99W, turn west on Airlie Road south of Monmouth. At Airlie, turn south on Maxfield Creek Road and then left on Dunn Forest Road. Signs are posted.
