The Second Annual Central Wrestling Golf Tournament will be played Aug. 24 at Oak Knoll Golf Course

. The entry fee for the four-man scramble is $30 per player and includes nine holes of golf, prizes and burgers after play. Play will begin with a 5 p.m. shotgun start. The Ninth Annual Dallas Food Bank Golf Tournament will be played Sept. 9 at Cross Creek Golf Course

Pirate Volleyball Camp will be held Aug. 16-17 at Perrydale High School

. Grades 4-8 will meet from 9 a.m.-noon and grades 9-12 will meet from 1 p.m.-4 p.m. The cost is $20 and includes a camp T-shirt. Registration forms are available at the Perrydale office.

Tryouts for the under-14 team will be Thursday, Aug. 16 (pitchers and catchers at 5 p.m., all players at 6 p.m.) and Saturday, Aug. 18 (pitchers and catchers at 8:30 a.m., all players at 9:30 a.m.) Tryouts for the under-12 team will be Tuesday, Aug. 21 and Aug. 28 (pitchers and catchers at 5:15 p.m., all players at 5:45 p.m.) All tryouts are at Henry Hill Elementary. The Salem Volleyball Officials Association is searching for individuals 18 years of age and older interested in officiating high school volleyball this upcoming season

. Interest and knowledge of the game is recommended. A criminal background check is required. Training will occur throughout the season. The Salem Soccer Referees Association will hold its high school referee training clinic Saturday, Aug. 18 from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Salem Senior Center, 1055 Erixon Dr

. The association needs around 60 referees to cover approximately 600 high school varsity and junior varsity matches in the 2007 season. Games primarily are played during the week in September and October. Prospective officials must attend a preseason training clinic, pay a $40 fee and pass a certification test. The Dallas Quarterback Club's 14th Annual Four-Man Scramble will be played Saturday, Aug. 18 at Dallas Golf Club

The field is limited to the first 13 paid teams. Proceeds benefit football programs in Dallas, from youth leagues to the high school. Dallas girls basketball coach David Brautigam is conducting individual workouts for players in fourth grade through college age
