The Polk County Cultural Coalition (PCCC) is accepting applications for grant funding.
The focus and priorities of the coalition's cultural plan are to protect existing cultural assets, focus on introducing young people to the arts, culture heritage and history, and help overcome barriers to participation in cultural events and activities.
Grant applications will be evaluated on how well the proposed project or activity addresses the priorities of the Polk County Cultural Plan. Projects must address one or more of the four priorities listed. Collaboration with other agencies is encouraged.
Awards of $200 to $2,500 will be made. Projects must be completed within one year and may not begin until grant funds are received.
Grant applications will be reviewed by PCCC members by Feb. 15. The coalition will make a final determination of grant awards, and decisions will be announced shortly afterward. Funds will be distributed around March 15.
Applications and instructions are available on the Polk County Cultural Coalition web site, www.polkwegotculture.org.
Applications will be accepted by mail only and must be postmarked by Jan. 15. Requests should be addressed to Polk County Cultural Coalition, P.O. Box 195, Monmouth, OR 97361.
The PCCC, now in its third year, will be awarding at least $9,000 in grant funds.
