VANCE -- Makiha Derek Matayo Vance was born to Candice Matayo and Logan Harris Vance of Bend at 7:23 a.m. Dec. 14, 2006 at St. Charles Hospital in Redmond.

He weighed 7 pounds, 3 ounces and was 19 inches long.

Makiha is the couple's first child.

Grandparents are Cyndi Harris of Bend, former and longtime Dallas resident, and Charles Matayo of Redmond.

Great-grandparents are Jack and Ramona Harris of Monmouth.
