Bridgeport's dinner/auction set for May 31
The Luckiamute Valley Charter School (Bridgeport Campus) PTC invites the public to its main fund-raising event of the year, - auctions and a spaghetti feed - Thursday, May 31 at 17475 Bridgeport Road.
All proceeds help provide support funds for field trips, new playground equipment, guest speakers and other projects.
Dinner and a silent auction will begin at 5:30 p.m., and an oral auction will start at 7:15 p.m. Dinner is $5 for adults, $3 for kids 10 and under.

Reptile show is June 5 at Lyle
Scott Peterson, "The Snake Man," will bring his reptile show to Lyle Elementary School on Tuesday, June 5. The 6 p.m. program is open to the public (cost is $1) and will be in the Lyle gym at 185 SW Levens St. in Dallas.
Peterson has offered his entertaining and educational reptile program at local schools and libraries for several years, and it is always a hit with kids and parents alike.
Dallas High class reunions slated
The 10-year reunion for the Dallas High School Class of 1997 is planned for Aug. 4 and 5. Saturday events will include dinner, beverages and "memory lane" entertainment beginning at 6 p.m. at the Dallas Event Center, 939 Main St.
On Sunday a picnic will begin at 11:30 a.m. at Dallas City Park (Brandvold Drive entrance). Children are welcome.
Tickets for the Aug. 4 dinner are $35 through Wednesday, May 30; cost will increase after May 30.

The 30-year reunion for the DHS Class of 1977 will be held Oct. 5-6, a Friday and Saturday. It will begin with a 6 p.m. gathering before Dallas' homecoming football fame, followed by a post-game party.
The Saturday events will include a 6 p.m. social hour at PEARL Gallery, a class photo, and a dance featuring the group Oyster Shooters. For more information: Tammy Bird at email@example.com.
Falls City sets spring cleanup
Falls City's annual Spring Cleanup Day is planned for 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 9, at the corner of Bridge Street and Parry Road (the old mill site). The event is sponsored by the city, Dallas Disposal Company, Les Schwab Tires and Rick's Auto Body.
Residents who live within a mile of the city limits (proof of residency will be requested) can bring brush, leaves and other yard debris; wood; metal; old tires and appliances for disposal. Items that cannot be accepted are household garbage; paint, chemicals, batteries or other hazardous waste; and liquids.
Appliances must be clean and emptied of any contents.

4-H fund raisers due in Dallas
Ugo's Pizza, 967 Main St. in Dallas, will donate 50 percent of its 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, sale proceeds to the Achievers 4-H group. Funds raised from the dine-in or takeout purchases will be used for 4-H summer camp scholarships.
Also, a 4-H Achievers garage and bake sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 2 at 16020 W. Ellendale Road, also for the summer camp scholarship fund.

IHS all-class reunion slated
The Independence High School all-class annual reunion will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18, at Henry Hill Elementary School, 750 Fifth St. Henry Hill is the site of the former IHS, which served Independence until 1950 when Central High opened.
All former IHS students are invited to attend and bring their families, photographs and stories they wish to share. A lunch by Cynthian Catering will be served.

PCL art auction set for June 23
Partnerships in Community Living's annual Summer Solstice Art Auction will be at 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, at Eola Hills Wine Cellars in Rickreall. For this event, PCL acquires quality artwork through many local and national donors. Oral and silent auctions are held. Beside the artwork, gift baskets and vacation trips are also auctioned.

Kristyn Boatman of Dallas graduated on May 5 from Northwest Christian College in Eugene with a degree in business administration. Boatman, a 2002 graduate of Dallas High School, minored in Christian ministries.
David C. Herrin of Monmouth recently graduated from Logan Chiropractic College in St. Louis, Mo., and now is practicing in the Bend-Redmond area. Herrin is a 2000 graduate of Central High School.
