Meth Forum Set For Nov. 14

POLK COUNTY -- All community members are encouraged to attend a forum on crime and social issues related to methamphetamine use on Wednesday, Nov. 14, at Western Oregon University.

POLK COUNTY -- All community members are encouraged to attend a forum on crime and social issues related to methamphetamine use on Wednesday, Nov. 14, at Western Oregon University.

The free event starts at 7 p.m. in the Pacific Room of the Werner University Center. It is hosted for the third year by United Communities Against Meth (UCAM), a partnership between Western and the Monmouth-Independence YMCA.

This year's theme "Meth, the Cost" will highlight the effects of the drug and how it affects the communities of Polk County.

Drug intervention, prevention tips, medical and social costs are among the topics that will be covered.
