The volleyball team falls to 3-4.

Third-ranked Cal State San Bernardino remained undefeated with a 30-24, 30-27, 30-17 women's volleyball victory over Western Oregon Sept. 1 in the Western Washington Invitational at Bellingham, Wash


The Coyotes improved to 7-0 on the season. The Wolves fell to 3-4.

Jessica Granados led CSUSB with 24 kills. Kayla Mainer paced the Wolves with 11 kills and 13 digs. Jessica Baty added 13 digs for WOU.

Western will open Great Northwest Athletic Conference play at home this coming week, hosting Central Washington on Thursday, Sept. 6 and Western Washington on Saturday, Sept. 8.

The Wildcats improved to 3-0. Western Oregon dropped its third straight match of the year, all to teams from the California Collegiate Athletic Association. The Wolves have been shut out in all three of those contests to drop to 0-3 on the year.

The Wildcats out-shot the Wolves 20-5, including a 6-3 advantage in shots on goal. WOU freshman goalie Kelsie Blachly made her first collegiate start and had five saves.

Western will play two more non-conference contests at home this coming week. On Wednesday, Sept. 5, the Wolves will host Linfield. That will be followed by a Sunday, Sept. 9 contest versus Pacific.
