Nicassio is promoted - Matt Nicassio has been promoted to banking center supervisor at the Monmouth branch of Oregon First Community Credit Union. Nicassio, a longtime resident of Monmouth, is a graduate of Oregon State University. Oregon First, established in 1957, has 21 offices throughout Oregon.

Teller honored for work - Melissa Schmidt was a recent recipient of the monthly "stellar teller" award by MaPS Credit Union. Schmidt, a 2006 graduate of Central High School, was recognized for outstanding service and accuracy while working at the credit union's Monmouth branch. MaPS was formed in 1935 and has branches in Polk and Marion counties.

Car Doctor to celebrate - The Car Doctor of Dallas is celebrating its first anniversary with a customer appreciation day Saturday, May 3, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Westwood Gallery, 7030 McTimmonds Road, south of Dallas off Kings Valley Highway. Donations benefit troops - Andrea's Mobile Dog Barber Shop, Elijah's Convenant Inc. will donate $4 from every dog grooming in May to Operation Love Box, a program that sends "thank you" boxes of encouragement, supplies and goodies to troops serving overseas.
