Dallas Dragon Youth Football Skills Camp set for Aug. 4-7.

Dallas Dragon Youth Football Skills Camp will be held Aug. 4-7 at the high school practice field

. Registration begins at 4 p.m. Aug. 4, and practice sessions will be held from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. daily. The cost is $25 and includes snacks and a camp t-shirt. Participants will receive an introduction to the fundamentals of football covering offense, defense and special teams. DHS coaches and current and former players will instruct. Football players Joe Pratt from Central and Kameron Graham from Falls City have been picked to play in the East-West Shrine Game Saturday, Aug. 2 in Baker City

. Graham will play for the West team, and Pratt will play for the East squad. Kickoff is at 2 p.m.

Panther Volleyball Camp for grades 4-8 will be held Aug. 6-8 at Central High School

Two Lady Dragon volleyball camps have been scheduled at the DHS gym

. The camp for incoming 9th-12th graders will be held Aug. 11-14. Practices will be from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The cost is $40. Registration will be on Aug. 11 from 8:30 a.m.-9:15 a.m. The camp for incoming 7th and 8th graders will be held Aug. 11-13. Practices will be from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. The cost is $30. Registration is Aug. 11 from 4 p.m.-5:15 p.m. Registration forms will be available July 31 at DHS and LaCreole Middle School.

Open gym has been set for incoming 7th and 8th graders interested in playing volleyball for LaCreole Middle School

Central High School Football Camp for grades 3-8 will be held Aug. 11-14 at Central High School

. Practices will be from 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. The cost is $20 per player and $10 for each additional child from the same family. Registration will begin at 6 p.m. Aug. 11.

Dallas Summer Tennis Camp for intermediate and advanced players will be held Thursdays through Aug. 14

. The camp will be at Dallas High School. Players will meet from 9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. The instructor is Dallas boys tennis coach Mary Christensen. The cost for any or all of the sessions is $35. Proceeds will benefit the Dallas boys tennis program. Registration forms are available at the high school office.

The Dallas High School equestrian team is holding its 2008 Gaming Playday Series

. The remaining events will be held at the Polk County Fairgrounds on Aug. 23 and Sept. 13. Registration will be from 7 a.m.-7:30 a.m., and gaming starts at 8 a.m. There are nine different events and seven age classes. Proceeds will benefit the Dallas High School equestrian team. The Central Wrestling Golf Tournament will be played Aug. 15 at Oak Knoll Golf Course

The 15th Annual Dallas Quarterback Club Four-Man Scramble will be played Aug. 16 at Dallas Golf Club

. The entry fee is $55 per player and includes green fee, lunch and starter pack. Proceeds benefit football programs in Dallas. More than $94,000 has been raised in the past 14 years. The field is limited to 14 teams. Wildcat Hoop Camp will be offered in three sessions over the course of two weeks

. Girls entering grades 4-8 will meet from 1 p.m.-4:30 p.m. July 28-31 at Dallas High School. Boys entering grades 4-8 will meet from 1 p.m.-4:30 p.m. Aug. 4-7 at Dallas High School. Boys and girls entering grades K-3 will meet from 9 a.m.-11:30 a.m. at Lyle Elementary. Sportsmanship and basketball fundamentals will be taught in a fun but applicable manner. Corban College in Salem is hosting a girls basketball coaches clinic Oct. 11 in the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center

. The clinic will run from 8 a.m.-4:45 p.m. The cost is $90 for the first coach from a program and $75 for each additional coach. There is a $10 discount for OACA members, but those who register after Oct. 1 will be charged a $10 late fee.
