POLK COUNTY -- A blown-out tire caused a rollover accident that injured seven people southwest of Dallas on Aug. 15.
The incident was reported about 3 p.m. near the intersection of Ballard and Clow Corner roads, said Polk County Sheriff's Lt. Jeff Isham.
A woman was traveling on Ballard Road in a Chevy Suburban when the front left tire blew out, causing her to lose control and cross into the opposite lane before hitting a ditch and rolling twice, Isham said.
All the passengers, two adults and five children, were wearing safety restraints, but a 5-year-old girl in a booster seat was ejected from the vehicle, Isham said.
The woman and the 5-year-old were transported to Salem Hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening, Isham said.
The others were taken and treated at West Valley Hospital in Dallas.
Dallas Police Department rerouted traffic for 40 minutes while the crash was cleared. No citations were issued.
