MONMOUTH - The Monmouth Parks and Recreation Board is taking applications for its grant program for 2008.
Applications are available at Monmouth City Hall, and on the city web site: www.ci.monmouth.or.us. Submissions are due by March 7.
Through the program, the board will provide funds to individuals or organizations for recreational activities. Activities must take place on city property or parkland, or other public property located within the city limits. The activity must be open to all Monmouth residents, and age-specific activities and projects are permitted.
Factors the board considers in the evaluation process: the number and types of the benefiting residents; applicant's ability to carry out the project; partnerships with area nonprofits and established organizations; future costs or benefits associated with the project; and amount of matching funds available.
Past grantees include:
Monmouth Business Association - Concerts in the Park
24-Hour Community Relay
Monmouth-Independence YMCA - youth fishing day
