POLK COUNTY -- The Polk County Planning Commission is back to being fully staffed after committee members were appointed July 16.

Members are Robert J. Slyh, Michael Schilling and John W. Condon, all of Dallas, Jim Morrison and Jack W. Lentsch from Monmouth, Bill Farmer from Rickreall and Wayne Simmons from West Salem.

Slyh, Morrison and Simmons have all served on the committee in the past.

Farmer, Morrison and Simmons will see their terms expire in 2008. Slyh, Schilling and Lentsch's terms expire in 2010, and Condon's in 2011.

Polk County Commissioners interviewed 17 candidates for the positions.

Every member of the planning commission is Republican, but the commissioners said they did not ask for each individual's party affiliation during the interview as the position is nonpartisan.
