Crash On Hwy. 22 Hurts At Least One

POLK COUNTY -- A Salem woman was seriously injured in a rollover crash on Highway 22W on July 24, Oregon State Police said.

POLK COUNTY -- A Salem woman was seriously injured in a rollover crash on Highway 22W on July 24, Oregon State Police said.

The incident occurred at about 2:51 p.m., when a 1998 Chevrolet Astro van driven by Bernard Stewart, 23, of Salem was traveling eastbound on Highway 22 near milepost 12.

The vehicle drifted off the road, hit a ditch and then launched into the air and rolled multiple times in a field.

Passenger Kelsey Lowe, 20, of Salem was ejected from the vehicle. She was not wearing a seat belt, OSP said.

Lowe was transported by REACH Air Ambulance to Good Samaritan Hospital in Corvallis with serious injuries.

Stewart's injury status wasn't available.

Troopers are investigating the accident.
