Wildcat Hoop Camp is on the way.

Wildcat Hoop Camp will be offered in three sessions over the course of two weeks

. Girls entering grades 4-8 will meet from 1 p.m.-4:30 p.m. July 28-31 at Dallas High School. Boys entering grades 4-8 will meet from 1 p.m.-4:30 p.m. Aug. 4-7 at Dallas High School. Boys and girls entering grades K-3 will meet from 9 a.m.-11:30 a.m. at Lyle Elementary. Sportsmanship and basketball fundamentals will be taught in a fun but applicable manner. The cost for each session is $50. Registration forms are available at Whitworth Elementary and the Dallas Aquatic Center. The registration deadline is July 15. Dane Oliver, a 1999 Central High School graduate, will host his Wide Receiver College July 7-9 at CHS

. The program is for dedicated quarterbacks and receivers entering grades 9-12. Sessions will be held daily from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. The cost is $90, and the entry deadline is June 15. Oliver was all-state as a senior for the Panthers and played in college at Montana, which won the 1-AA national championship in 2001. Oliver was a student-assistant coach at Boise State and currently is the offensive coordinator at Sentinel High School in Missoula, Mont. Corban College in Salem is hosting a girls basketball coaches clinic Oct. 11 in the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center

. The clinic will run from 8 a.m.-4:45 p.m. The cost is $90 for the first coach from a program and $75 for each additional coach. There is a $10 discount for OACA members, but those who register after Oct. 1 will be charged a $10 late fee. Recent Perrydale graduate Justin Storm has been selected to play in the Eight-Man All-Star Football Game June 21 at Eastern Oregon State College in LaGrande

. Last season in the Casco Conference, Storm was a first-team all-league defensive back and a second-team quarterback.

Jeremy White, a 1981 graduate of Dallas High School, won the men's 30-plus A title May 21-26 in the 41st USA Racquetball Championships at Houston, Texas

. White, who now lives in Bend, won all four of his matches in the event, beating Eric Vought of Powell, Ohio, in the finale. White also finished fourth in the men's elite division.

World Gym at 887 Main St. in Dallas is offering sports specific boot camps for middle schoolers and high schoolers July 21-25 and July 28-Aug. 1

. The instructor is personal trainer Evan McDaniel. Campers will learn high-intensity workouts designed to enhance their conditioning and strength for the sport of their choice (football, soccer, cross country or volleyball). Middle school campers will meet daily from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. High schoolers will meet daily from 12:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m. The cost is $375. For more information: 503-623-4440.

Central Youth Sports, which has been providing sports for Monmouth-Independence children ages 4 to 13 for more than 50 years, is holding its annual sponsorship drive

. There is a $200 Black Package that helps pay for field and court maintenance, referees and equipment. There also is a $350 Red Package that allows for sponsorship of a team in football, basketball, softball, soccer or baseball. For more information: 503-838-4013.

The Ninth Annual Northwest Mud Drag Racing Championships will be held Saturday, June 14 in Sheridan

. Action in eight different race classes begins at 10 a.m. The race is limited to the first 125 entries. The spectactor fee is $10 (children under age 6 are free). The Western Oregon University Golf Pass, a value worth more than $400, is now on sale for $30

. The 2008-09 WOU Golf Pass has 22 golf courses to choose from. Most offer two-for-one greens fees and other discounts. If you buy more than one pass, additional passes are just $25 each. The WOU Golf Pass is good from June 1, 2008 to May 31, 2009.
