Lillie Elizabeth Reed of Dallas plans to celebrate her 100th birthday on Oct. 7 with a party.
Lillie was born in the back of a wagon, delivered by her grandfather, near Delta, Colo., on a trip to visit relatives. At 14, she moved with her family to La Grande.
Lillie married David Reed on Sept. 11, 1925, and moved to the Willamette Valley.
In 1935, the Reeds moved to Valsetz, and later to Dallas, where they operated a service station on Main Street and built Reeds Rest Home on the Dallas-Salem Highway.
Lillie and her husband celebrated 60 years of marriage. Dave died in 1986.
Her family includes Delora Pierce and Donald Reed, both of Dallas, Dorothy Sims of Aumsville, nine grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
