DALLAS -- Speedy's Cafe in Dallas is undergoing a remodel and will also expand to Salem.

"Dallas hasn't been good to Speedy's," owner Nancy Herrera said.

Herrera said she is opening a branch of the breakfast- and lunch-style restaurant in Salem in the next 60 days, the location to be announced. She is keeping the existing restaurant at 957 Main St. and remodeling it into a new restaurant to drum up more business.

Herrera said she has not yet decided if she will change the name and will not disclose the type of dining style she will provide.

Speedy's in Dallas will remain open during the remodel and Herrera said she will still honor gift certificates. Her temporary hours will be Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Speedy's will be closed Monday and Tuesday.

Herrera said she expects to unveil the remodel the first week of March.
