Tryouts are coming for Central's under-12 softball team.

Dallas High School Equestrian Team's Gaming Playday Series concludes Aug. 29 at the Polk County Fairgrounds

. Sign-up is from 7 a.m.-7:30 a.m. Gaming begins at 8 a.m. There are seven different age groups and nine different events. Dallas Dragon Youth Football Camp will be held Aug. 10-13 at Dallas High School

. Grades 3-8 are eligible. The cost is $35 and includes T-shirt, prizes and end-of-camp barbecue. Practices will be from 5 p.m.-6:30 p.m. Dallas coaches and players will instruct. For more information, Bill Masei, 541-217-5695.

Central High School will host a noncontact football camp Aug. 17-21

. Grades 3-8 will meet from 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. on Aug. 17-20. Grades 9-12 will meet from 3:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. Aug. 17-21. The cost for each camp is $10. Registration will begin one hour prior to the start of each camp on the football field. For more information: 503-606-2226.

Kings Valley Charter School's Second Annual Basketball Camp will be held Aug. 10-14

Western Oregon's Wolverton Memorial Pool has been ranked No. 23 in the National Aquatic Program by the United States Water Fitness Association

. The pool was ranked No. 1 in the Overall Improvement and Positive Changes in the Last Year category.

Tryouts for the Central 12-under spring/summer softball team will be held Aug. 11 and 15

. On Aug. 11, pitchers and catchers will meet from 5 p.m.-5:45 p.m. with all players meeting from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. On Aug. 15, pitchers and catchers meet from 9-9:45 a.m. with all players meeting from 10 a.m.-noon. Registration starts 20 minutes prior to each session. A parent must be in attendance to fill out the registration form and liability release. Oregon Family Health in Dallas, 201 SE Washington St., is offering sports physicals for athletes in grades 7-12

. Physicals will be given from 8 a.m.-noon Saturday, Aug. 1. The cost is $25. Proceeds will go to the Dallas Booster Club. Physicals are required for those entering grades 7, 9 and 11 or those without a physical in the past year.

The Fifth Annual Willamette Valley Golf Tournament will be played Aug. 13 at Cross Creek Golf Course
