The Dallas Rookies took second recently in the Sandy All-Star Tournament.

Registration for Dallas Kids, Inc. flag football, tackle football, soccer and volleyball is underway.

The 37th Annual Mini-Marathon Run and Walk will be held July 4

. The starting time is 11:45 a.m. The 2.6-mile course starts at Monmouth City Hall and ends at Independence City Hall. The early entry fee is $5, $15 with race T-shirt. Day of race entry fee is $10. Dallas High School Equestrian Team's Gaming Playday Series continues July 18 and Aug. 29 at the Polk County Fairgrounds

. Sign-up is from 7 a.m.-7:30 a.m. Gaming begins at 8 a.m. There are seven different age groups and nine different events. Wildcat Hoop Camp is coming soon at Whitworth Elementary

. Girls in grades 4-8 will meet from July 27-30. Boys and girls in grades K-3 and boys in grades 4-8 will meet from Aug. 3-6. The cost is $50 for each session and includes a T-shirt. Registration forms are available at Whitworth, the Dallas Aquatic Center and the Dallas Radio Shack. There will be an additional $5 fee for registration after July 20. The 2009 Wolfpack Classic golf tournament will be played Monday, June 29 at Creekside Golf Course in Salem

The Central Lions Club's 24th Annual Charity Women's Softball Tournament will be played June 27-28 at Western Oregon University

The 35th Annual Monmouth-Independence Fourth of July Tennis Tournament will be played July 4-5

. Matches will be played at Western Oregon University, Central High School and Dallas High School. There will be different levels of play in singles, doubles and mixed doubles. The entry fee is $14 for singles and $25 (per team) for doubles. Proceeds will go towards the promotion of tennis in the community. The Dallas Quarterback Club 16th Annual Scramble will be played Aug. 13 at Dallas Golf Club

. The entry fee is $55 per player and includes green fees, lunch, starter pack and prizes. Proceeds benefit all levels of football in Dallas. More than $102,000 has been raised in the past 15 years. Dallas High School tennis is holding a summer camp from July 6-Aug. 1

. The camp is for intermediate and beginner players entering sixth grade or older. Players will meet for two hours in the morning at the DHS courts on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The cost is $20 per week or $65 for all four weeks. Dallas High coaches Emily Dimick and Erich Berg will be among the instructors. The entry deadline is June 26.
