MONMOUTH -- A local man was arrested in connection with a burglary in southeast Monmouth late last month.
Jose Luis Coronado Jr., 23, was charged with burglary I, theft I, criminal mischief II, theft III and unlawful entry into a vehicle.
Coronado allegedly took jewelry and clothing from a home in the 1000 block of East Clay Street and broke into a car on South Heffley Street on Feb. 16, police said.
Monmouth officers served a search warrant at Coronado's home on Feb. 19 and found some of the property taken during the burglary, though he wasn't there at the time.
Coronado turned himself in Feb. 24 after learning that there was a warrant out for his arrest, Sgt. Kim Dorn said.
Authorities are still investigating other burglaries and car break-ins in the area that occurred in January. Those with information about the incidents are encouraged to call Monmouth Police Department at 503-838-1109.
