Bucklin -- 65th
Arthur and Gladys Bucklin of Dallas will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary Wednesday, March 18, with family and friends.
The couple was married March 18, 1944, in Thomaston, Maine.
Arthur served in the U.S. Navy and was a Chief Petty Officer. Later, he worked for Westinghouse and was a machinist and planner for the U.S. Department of Defense, retiring in 1982. Gladys was a millworker, nurse's aide, cook and homemaker.
The Bucklins settled in Dallas in 1987. They are members of First Baptist Church, and the senior group the Gadabouts.
Their family includes Dennis and Charlene Bucklin of Dallas, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Vinson -- 60th
Rex and Dolores Vinson of Sheridan celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Dec. 27, 2008, with a family get-together at their daughter's home in Dallas.
Rex Vinson and Dolores Matzner were married Jan. 29, 1949, in Svensen. They have resided in Polk County since 1963, having previously lived in Knappa.
Rex is a retired road maintenance equipment operator. Dolores is a homemaker. The Vinsons enjoy square dancing with Braids and Braves of McMinnville and are members of Fendall Community Club.
Their family includes Marie Vinson of Dallas, Phillip Vinson of Salem, Jim Vinson, Kevin Vinson and Duane Vinson, all of Willamina, Darrell Vinson of Knappa, Scott Vinson of Mossyrock, Wash., Bill and Millie Scharlau of Clifton, Ill., and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Merriman -- 25th
Robert and Linda Merriman of Dallas celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary March 7 with a quaint dinner together.
Robert E. Merriman and Linda A. Nelson were married March 10, 1984, at First Presbyterian Church in Dallas. Donna Nelson attended the couple.
The Merrimans have resided in Polk County their entire married life.
Robert is an engineering maintenance support technician at Hewlitt-Packard in Corvallis. He enjoys playing guitar and repairing computers. Linda is a homemaker and enjoys gardening and swimming.
Their family includes Michael and Jennifer Merriman of Central Point and three grandchildren.
