3/25 MILESTONES: Military Retirement



Sgt. Maj. Rudolph J. Frazzini of Independence recently retired after 30 years of service in the Marine Corps. A retirement ceremony was held March 6 at Headquarters, Marine Corps Forces Pacific, Camp H.M. Smith, in Hawaii.

Serving most of his career in the reserve, Frazzini has been activated numerous times and is a veteran of the Gulf War in 1990-1991, as well as a veteran of the Global War on Terrorism, deploying to Afghanistan in 2004.

Frazzini's awards and decorations include: Meritorious Service Medal with gold star, Navy Commendation Medal with gold star, Navy Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Select Marine Corps Reserve Medal with silver star, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, National Defense Medal with star, Kuwait Liberation Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and Afghanistan Campaign Medal.

Frazzini works as a forester for Forest Capital Partners, and manages timberland in the coast range of Oregon.
