Another election season has arrived, albeit a one-measure ballot issue that affects only a portion of Polk County voters.
Ballots for the Nov. 3 vote-by-mail election are scheduled to go out Friday, Oct. 16. Registered voters residing within the Dallas School District are the only county residents who will receive a ballot. They will decide the fate of an $8.6 million school maintenance bond request.
A friendly reminder regarding our policy for letters to the editor pertaining to election issues: The length limit for all endorsement letters is 100 words -- no exceptions -- per our long-standing Letters to the Editor policy. Endorsement letters from writers outside of Polk County will not be published. The deadline for letters each week is Monday at 10 a.m.
