House Floors in new showroom
DALLAS -- Dallas flooring business House of Floors opened a new showroom last week in the space previously occupied by Southtown Glass on the corner of Main and Mill Streets.
Owner Renee McBride said the new store opened on Monday, Aug. 9.
"I wanted to be more front and center," she said.
She that added at her former location on Jefferson Street, parking and visibility were issues.
"I've got both here," McBride said.
The showroom will soon feature new area rugs, ceramic tiles and countertops.
Southtown Glass moved its showroom into the remodeled space next to House of Floors.
McBride said a grand opening will be scheduled some time in September.
L'Attitude One offers wie tastings
DALLAS -- L'Attitude One restaurant will offer Polk County wine tastings on the third Thursday of the month starting Aug. 19.
An assortment of wines and sample appetizers prepared by Chef Tom Cifelli will be available Thursdays from 6 to 9 p.m. Cost is $10 per person.
Cifelli was born in Italy and is a graduate of Western Culinary Institute Le Cordon Bleu.

Upholstery store has new name
DALLAS -- Anita R. Hoefler recently took over ownership of Dan's Upholstery and has renamed the business Dallas Upholstery.
Dallas Upholstery, 430 Main St., Suite C, offers upholstery services for cars, boats and household furniture. The business also has a wide variety of fabrics and supplies for the do-it-yourselfer.
Business hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

New stylist joins Hot Rod Hair team
DALLAS -- Julia Foster has joined the team of stylists at Hot Rod Hair effective Tuesday, Aug. 17.
Foster and the other stylists offer haircuts and styles for men, women and children, hair coloring and color weaving, perms, sets, waxing and more. Hours are available Tuesday through Saturday.

Workfroce office adds area analyst
SALEM -- Katharine Williams has joined the Oregon Employment Department's Workforce and Economic Research Division as the workforce analyst covering Marion, Polk and Yamhill counties.
As a workforce analyst, Williams supplies labor market information to businesses, community-based organizations, economic development groups, and government entities to ensure they have all the economic and statistical data needed to make informed business decisions.
