DALLAS -- A former Dallas High School administrator, Scott McLeod, has been selected interim principal at DHS.
McLeod will temporarily replace outgoing principal Keith Ussery, who is leaving to take a job with the Willamette Education Service District beginning in January.
Ussery's last day is Dec. 17. McLeod will begin his role Jan. 4 and will serve the rest of the school year.
McLeod is an instructor in Western Oregon University's College of Education's Division of Teacher Education. His work at WOU ends next week.
McLeod has taught at Whitworth Elementary School and was principal at Pedee School, Lyle Elementary School and Dallas High.
"Scott has excellent skills in interacting with the community, staff, students and parents and is a familiar face to Dallas," said Dallas Superintendent Christy Perry.
A plan for finding a permanent DHS principal will be presented to the Dallas School Board at its Monday, Dec. 13, meeting.
