The Summerfest Fun Run is coming July 31.

The Summerfest Fun Run will be held July 31.

There is 5K race for adults and a half-mile Fun Run for kids. The entry fees are $15 for the 5K ($10 for students) and $5 for the Fun Run. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the Dallas Radio Shack parking lot. The Fun Run starts at 9:45 a.m. followed by the 5K at 10 a.m. For more information: Sandy Teal, 503-910-9787.

Three sessions of Wildcat Hoop Camp are coming soon

. Girls in grades 4-8 will meet from July 19-22. Boys and girls in grades K-3 and boys in grades 4-8 will meet from July 26-30. The K-3 group will meet daily from 8:30 a.m.-11 a.m. at Whitworth Elementary. Boys and girls in grades 4-8 will meet from 12:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m. at Dallas High School. The cost for each session is $50 and includes a camp T-shirt. Registration forms are available at Whitworth, the Dallas Aquatic Center and the Dallas Radio Shack. The 38th Annual Monmouth-Independence Mini-Marathon will be held July 4

. The 2.6-mile race will begin at 11:45 a.m. It starts at Monmouth City Hall and ends at Independence City Hall. Early registration is $5 and ends June 30. Day-of-race registration is $10. Trophies will be presented to the top male and female finishers. Age group winners will receive ribbons. Registration forms are available at wv.roadrunners.org. Dallas High School Junior Cheer Camp will be held July 12 in the DHS Forum

. The camp is for those in grades K-8 and will run from 1 p.m.-4:30 p.m. The cost is $25 per child. Participants will learn the basics of cheerleading. There will be a performance at the end of the camp. Participants also will have a chance to march in the Summerfest Parade. Registration forms are available in the DHS office. A Dallas High School Alumni Golf Tournament will be played July 31 at Oak Knoll Golf Course

The 36th Annual Monmouth-Independence 4th of July Tennis Tournament will be played July 3-4 and will be headquartered at the Central High School courts

Jason Buce Wrestling Camp will be held July 24-25 at Dallas High School

. The camp is for all ages, and the cost is 5 cents. Campers will meet from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. July 24 and from 9 a.m.-noon July 25. Buce was a three-time state champion at Dallas in the early 1990s and went on to earn All-American honors at Oregon State. He currently is an assistant coach at Wilsovnille High School.

Swimming lessons are being held at Western Oregon's Wolverton Memorial Pool

Dallas Basketball Camp will be held June 24-27 in the DHS gym

The Seventh Annual Mid-Willamette Valley Services Foundation Golf Tournament will be held July 23 at Oak Knoll Golf Course

. The entry fee for the four-person scramble is $75 per person. It includes green fee, cart and a burger (veggie or regular) after play. Play will begin with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Hole sponsors and gift donors also are needed. Valley Services is a nonprofit organization that helps older adults in Marion, Polk and Yamhill Counties. For more information: 503-304-3473.
