FALLS CITY -- The city of Falls City is seeking residents interested in serving on its Planning Commission and Budget Review Committee.
The purpose of the Planning Commission is to review and advise the City Council on all public and private activities involving the physical development of the city. It is responsible for reviewing land-use decisions, development proposals, variance requests, zone changes and other land-use actions. The commission also provides input into plans and programs that will have a long-term impact on the development of the community.
The city Budget Review Committee is a committee appointed by the City Council to review the annual budget, general financial condition of the city, perform other duties and make recommendations to the City Council on the proposed city budget submitted by the city administrator each fiscal year.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old, a registered voter, and be a bona fide resident of the city for at least three months immediately preceding the appointment to qualify.
Those interested in serving on either committee must submit a "Personal Information Form for Candidates for Committees or Commissions," which is available at Falls City City Hall, 299 Mill St.
