WEST SALEM -- A 20-year-old Sheridan-area woman and her 2-year-old child received minor injuries during a single vehicle rollover crash on Highway 221 two miles west of Salem on May 6.

According to Oregon State Police Trooper Andrew Goffrier, at about 11:20 a.m., a passenger car driven by Jonathan A. Roberts, 24, of Sheridan, was eastbound on Highway 221 near milepost 16 when it traveled into a ditch and rolled onto its top.

Front passenger Leah Wrae Lehman, 20, and the child in the backseat, both from Sheridan, were transported to Salem Hospital with minor injuries.

Roberts and rear passenger Juan A. Salas, 19, of McMinnville, were not injured.

All occupants were using safety restraints or a child safety seat. Troopers are looking into information that the child may have been ejected.

The highway was closed for about 90 minutes.

OSP troopers from the Salem Area Command office are continuing the investigation. Salem Police Department, Polk County Sheriff's Office, local fire personnel and ODOT assisted at the scene.
