DALLAS -- The Community Holiday Project started taking applications from families and individuals on Tuesday, Oct. 19.
This year Polk County Commission for Children and Families is unable to coordinate the project due to budget cuts. However, Melissa Baurer and Denise Ramos from Dallas Resource Center and community members Jennifer Monroe and Kimberlee Ayers will be stepping up as project coordinators.
Applications for assistance will be available on dedicated application days, where a volunteer will be available to assist. Application days will be held at the Dallas Resource Center, 326 Main St., from 2 to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays now through Friday, Nov. 12.
Those wanting to donate to the project can do so by adopting a family, purchasing gifts or food for the project, or helping Christmas Cheer out with delivering food baskets Christmas Eve morning.
