Master Storyteller Russ Schallock of Albany came to Pedee Church on Sept. 19 to tell a gripping story of frontier life to illustrate the importance of forgiving and of salvation.
He captivated the congregation by dressing in the buckskin and regalia of a mountain man, with a backdrop of pioneer and Native American artifacts. Afterward the congregation got a chance to visit with Schallock and buy some of his stories on CD as they enjoyed one of Pedee Church's delicious potluck dinners.
The Pedee community wished longtime resident Ruth Stafford a Happy 90th Birthday on Sunday, Sept. 19, at a beautiful Hawaiian-themed party at the Pedee Women's Club. More than 60 family members and friends attended the colorful affair, which featured a lavish lunch of tempting finger foods.
Lee and Bev DeSaulnier returned from Marion, Ind., where they had a family reunion at the home of their daughter, Cheryl, and her husband, Jerry Bishir. Their sons Dan, from Lebanon, and David, from Bradenton, Fla, also came, as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lee DeSaulnier is feeling good these days, since he has recovered from cancer.
