DALLAS -- Polk County Bounty Market will host an afternoon of old-fashioned fun and shopping during "Carnival Days at the Market" on Thursday, Aug. 25.
The market will have old-style family games including three-legged races and gunnysack races, carnival-style games, plant a bean to take home, live music by Stephen Reynolds, and a dunk tank featuring local dignitaries and public officials including Polk County Commissioner Mike Ainsworth at 3 p.m., Dallas City Manager Jerry Wyatt at 3:30 p.m., and Polk County Community Corrections Director Marty Silbernagel at 5 p.m.
While there, shoppers will find fresh fruits and vegetables, breads, cheeses, meats, smoked fish, baked artisan goodies, flowers, informational booths from local nonprofits and more.
The Polk County Bounty Market takes place on the Polk County Courthouse lawn, 850 Main St., Dallas, from 2 to 6 p.m. Live music is scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m.
